Six months in and counting. I can’t believe how quickly the past six months have gone, it’s been one massive whirlwind of laughs, cries, smiles, tears, poops, sick, ups, downs, highs and lows. An emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Thea is growing up so fast, and weighing in at 19lbs, she’ll be in her 9-12 months clothes in no time- and oh God, she’ll be one soon 😩. Okay, so I don’t need to think about that just yet, but judging how quickly the past six months have gone, I probably need to start planning her eighteenth birthday party now! A bit premature? I don’t think so!
She’s hitting more and more milestones each day, and her latest one is crawling. She is getting so frustrated with herself. At the minute she’s practising dragging herself across the floor as she can get up onto all fours, but can’t quite coordinate herself. I’ll let her off though, she is only six months after all. I just don’t like seeing her get so stressed with herself because she can’t do something. She gets so upset and worked up over it.
Milk allergy wise, it’s still not great. She’s sick an awful lot. Keeps the solids down (majority of the time) and the milk always comes up. So, it pretty much tells me that the milk is still the problem. Gaviscon doesn’t help either so it’s not reflux. The doctors seem reluctant to change the milk again, her symptoms aren’t severe enough, which is ridiculous. All I want it for a skin prick test, but that will come out of the doctors budget, so their not going to do that are they! It’s such a waste of money and not to mention painful for my baby to continue down this route. But what do I know, I’m only her mother.
We still don’t have any teeth yet, how annoying!! This teething malarkey seems to have gone on forever, but I know they’ll come when they’re ready, I just wish it was sooner rather than later so my poor baby can get a rest.
We’ve really been enjoying going to the library every other week. She loves the older children there and the little girls that go really take a shine to her and her little friend Isabelle. ‘Can I sit with the baby, because she’s sooooo cute!’ It’s a really friendly place and your made to feel welcome. Swimming is a bust- for some reason she doesn’t like the environment. It’s definitely not the water as she absolutely loves bath time, so me and Troy are going to take her on my own and see what happens. I can always rejoin if I want to.
There’s not much else baby wise apart from the fact she’s growing up too fast! For myself, I’m still playing netball, although disappointed that I don’t seem to be back on form yet. I’m struggling with various aches and pains after netball/Clubbercise class so I’ve got a doctors appointment to try and sort it out. I can barely get out of bed during the night because my knees have locked. I’m hoping it’s something simple such as needing to lose some more baby weight, and not a slipped disc which from what I’ve read it very well could be.
The weekend just gone I attended my first convention since 2008. I’m not going to delve into it too much, but it was great to see old friends and make new ones. The guests were great and even better, it’s just been announced that there will be a second event for fans of the 100, so you all need to go! Here are some pictures from the weekend…
